In October, Banco National de Comércio de Timor-Leste (BNCTL) launched the first-ever local bank ATM network in the country’s capital, Dili. Software Group is proud to be supporting BNCTL as the technology partner for this successful project. The bank is leveraging SG’s solutions and is now able to issue branded cards to BNCTL customers and provide them with access to their accounts 24/7. This will dramatically reduce the congestion in branches and improve the efficiency of the branch operations, while offering convenience to the customers.
“This is an important milestone for the commercial transformation of BNCTL, which will ensure that more people have better access to a range of financial services,” commented Mr. Estanislau da Silva, Minister of State, and Coordinator of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Fisheries of Timor Leste and representative shareholder of BNCTL, quoted by Asian Development Bank. Mr. Da Silva added that the new ATMs will allow BNCTL customers the luxury of anytime banking.
Launching the bank ATMs is part of BNCTL’s Commercial Banking Transformation Program. The primary objective of the program is to provide opportunities for efficient and convenient out-of-branch self-service transactions. Тhe ATMs and all other delivery channels will enable BNCTL to provide 24/7 banking services to their clients in the entire territory of Timor Leste. They will further improve the customer service, operational efficiency, empower staff and increase the profile of the bank. To achieve this BNCTL is partnering with Software Group to provide a full suite of delivery channels and migrate to a new core banking system which will enable BNCTL to increase the depth and breadth of financial services to their clients.
