The National Commerce Bank of Timor-Leste (BNCTL) held, this Friday, the ceremony to lay the first stone for the construction of the bank's new building in the municipality of Laútem, Lospalos village post, Fuiluro juice.
During his speech, the Chairman of the BNCTL Executive Committee, Mr. António Vítor thanked the President of the Municipal Authority of Laútem, the local authorities, the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) and everyone involved in the project.
Mr. Antônio Vítor reported that the objective of the expansion is to improve access to banking services by the community, offering more dignified and convenient service to customers.
He also thanked the Representative of the Sole Shareholder of BNCTL, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mr. Francisco Kalbuady Lay, and the National Parliament, which allocated a budget to the bank to improve customer service conditions.
According to the contract, construction of the new building must be completed within 11 months. Engineer Almeiro Neves Freitas, from the company China Shandong International, stated that the company will do its utmost to ensure the project is executed.
In turn, the representative of the Municipal Authority of Laútem, Mr. Siborsio dos Santos expressed his gratitude to BNCTL for the construction of the new building, which will provide better services to the Laútem community and contribute to the economic development of the region.
The launch ceremony was attended by local authorities, representatives of the National Veterans Council, members of the PNTL, representatives of the Church, the community and BNCTL staff.
