BNCTL BROUGHT BANKING PRODUCTS CLOSER TO THE COMMUNITY IN MANATUTO MUNICIPALITY

The National Commercial Bank of Timor-Leste (BNCTL), S.A., through its Business Planning and Commercialization Division (PNK), promoted financial inclusion and banking literacy among local authorities, municipal officials, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCITL), teachers, and the community in Manatuto Vila.

The objective of this activity was to share information about the bank’s products and services, such as BNCTL account types, deposits, loans, remittance services, mobile services, digital services including Internet/Mobile Banking, Banking Agents, social services, and others.

During his remarks, the President of the Manatuto Municipal Authority, Mr. Luís Inácio Henriques Fernandes, expressed his appreciation to BNCTL for coordinating with the municipality to share banking information, enabling local authorities and municipal officials to better understand and access banking products, and to further disseminate this knowledge within their communities across the sucos.

Throughout the event, participants showed strong interest and engagement by raising questions related to access to credit, account opening facilities at BNCTL, the use of digital applications, including concerns faced by communities in each suco, to which the BNCTL team provided immediate responses and solutions. Additionally, the team also provided on-the-spot assistance for participants interested in registering for Internet/Mobile Banking services.

The dissemination session, held on Monday, 13 October, was part of BNCTL’s strategic plan to strengthen community trust in the national financial system and to ensure that all Timorese have access to safe, modern, and accessible banking services.
