The National Commercial Bank of Timor-Leste (BNCTL) S.A has officially launched its digital wallet (E-WALLET) named “KOHE BNCTL” as part of the celebration of its 14th anniversary. KOHE BNCTL is a digital application that allows consumers to carry out transactions quickly, easily, securely, and in a modern way using mobile devices.
During his remarks, the President of the BNCTL Executive Commission, Mr. Marcelo da Cruz Carvalho, stated that this initiative makes a significant contribution to promoting financial inclusion, increasing access to banking services for the community, and supporting the modernization of the digital payment system in Timor-Leste’s financial sector.
The name KOHE BNCTL was inspired by the local word “KOHE,” which holds deep meaning in Timorese culture. KOHE symbolizes savings, sustainability, and productivity, he noted.
