BNCTL Launches “UMA ESPERANSA” for a Family in Hohulo Village

Maubisse, 27 February 2026 – The National Commercial Bank of Timor-Leste (BNCTL), S.A., represented by the President of the Executive Commission, Mr. Marcelo da Cruz Carvalho, on Friday launched the foundation stone for the construction of the “House of Hope” in Fatubesi Village, Hohulo Hamlet.

In his remarks, the President of the Executive Commission explained that this construction initiative is part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which is implemented annually with the intention of helping community members who are in great need of support.

The meaning of “House of Hope” reflects that hope is the foundation for development—for individuals, families, and the nation. This initiative demonstrates that BNCTL is not only a financial institution, but also a social partner committed to improving the well-being of Timorese communities.

On the other hand, the representative of the President of the Ainaro Municipal Authority, the Head of Planning, expressed appreciation to BNCTL for providing support to this family, which contributes to promoting financial inclusion, economic development, and improving the living conditions of the population.

The launching ceremony was attended by local authorities from Fatubesi village, representatives of PNTL in Ainaro Municipality, community members, and the BNCTL technical team.
