Dili, May 29, 2025 – The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MJDAC) and the Banco Nacional de Comércio de Timor-Leste, S.A. 2025, in Dili.

The partnership, formalized between Minister Nelyo Isaac Sarmento and the President of the Executive Committee of the BNCTL, Marcelo da Cruz Carvalho, aims to strengthen the efforts to organize and promote these important events of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

As part of this agreement, the BNCTL will provide a set of institutional, logistical and promotional support essential for the event, reaffirming its commitment to the development of sports and youth in Timor-Leste.

In return, the BNCTL will receive the status of platinum sponsor of the XII CPLP Sports Games, with the right to visibility of its brand in promotional materials and in physical and digital spaces associated with the event. The institution will also have access to tickets for the various sports and invitations to official ceremonies.

“This partnership represents an important step in the mobilization of national resources for an event of international scope, which will place Timor-Leste at the center of sports and youth in the CPLP”, declared Marcelo da Cruz Carvalho, President of the BNCTL Executive Committee.

The Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MJDAC), Nelyo Isaac Sarmento, highlighted the importance of collaboration with the national financial sector and reported that “The signing of this protocol with the BNCTL demonstrates that Timorese institutions are united in the mission of projecting Timor-Leste in the Portuguese-speaking world. The support of the BNCTL is essential to guarantee the success of the Games and reaffirms the country’s potential to host major international events.”

The collaboration between MJDAC and BNCTL reinforces the involvement of the financial sector in sports development and strengthening regional cooperation.
